Key Executive Bios
M. Stephen Brown ("Brown") - Chairman
and CEO
For the past twenty years, Steve Brown has been involved with directing
sales and operations in the telecommunications industry where he has
steadily risen up the ladder from his first posting as a sales representative
to his most recent project of authoring a sales training manual targeting
telecommunications and the real estate market. Throughout his career,
Steve has focused on developing and managing highly productive sales
teams and has launched and directed several entrepreneurial start-ups
within the telecommunications sector.
Prior to entering the telecommunications industry, Steve was an entrepreneur
in the resort and tourism industry where he owned and managed several
small businesses including restaurants and ski shops. Steve attended
Eastern Illinois University and the University of Northern Colorado
where he pursued a liberal arts degree. Steve, and his wife Jo, along
with a menagerie of animals, live in Salt Lake City where he continues
to hone his golf game and make an occasional appearance on the tennis
court.
Matt Frandsen - Vice Pesident, Director of Sales
Matt Frandsen brings a strong background in the activewear industry
to the company. Matt began his career in apparel as Marketing and
Manufacturing Coordinator for San Segal Sportswear, a Salt Lake City
apparel manufacturer, where he oversaw design and production of sportswear
for major accounts including, Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World.
More recently Matt was a key player with E.N.U.F. International where
he learned every facet of the young men's activewear business by working
in virtually every department. He rose to Production and Merchandising
Director during a time that E.N.U.F. grew to $50 million in sales.
Matt also had the unique opportunity to represent E.N.U.F. as the
as the official apparel supplier for the Salt Lake City Olympic Bid
Committee. Before joining Be The Ball, Matt spent the past year as
Sales Manager for eTagz, Inc., a retail marketing consulting company
located in Orem, Utah. Matt studied Marketing and Graphic Design at
the University of Utah and lives in Salt Lake City with his wife Melinda
and their two children, where he enjoys snowboarding, and mountain
biking.
Bob Commander - Creative Director
For the past twenty years Bob Commander has worked as a freelance
illustrator for some of the nation's leading companies, advertising
agencies, publishers, and design firms. While recognized as one of
the lead artists for RJ Reynolds' extremely successful Joe Camel advertising
campaign, Bob has also provided commissioned art for Time Warner,
Disney, Universal, New Line Cinema, Sony, McDonalds, and Eastman Kodak
to name a few.
Bob often returns to the campus as a guest artist and instructor.
He has taught at the Art Center School of Design in Pasadena, one
of the nation's most prestigious art institutions, as well as the
University of Utah, Utah State University and Brigham Young University.
Bob is extremely adept in all mediums and is the creator of the Be
The Ball logo and all associated artwork. Bob received a Bachelor
of Fine Arts from Utah State University and enjoys skiing and biking
in the mountains of Park City with his wife Jennifer.
